We are very pleased to welcome several new staff members to the ever growing world of SC41 Furniture!
Sandra Saltzman comes to us with a background in furniture sales and office configuration. She is a certified furniture installer for Haworth. Sandra lived in Florence, Italy where she studied art history and developed a great appreciation for some of the fine food she loves to cook. Sandra is an animal lover and has an Irish/Cocker dog named Rusty and a 17-year-old cat named “Wilsee”, whose name came from Sandra’s uncertainty about getting a cat. “We’ll see,” she kept telling her, and the name just stuck.
Barbara Diamond, AKBD is the newest sales associate, and we’re thrilled to have her here. Barbara comes to us with a solid background in Interior Design, and a focus on eco-friendly interiors. Another graduate from West Valley’s nationally renowned interior design program, Barbara is an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer through the National Kitchen and Bath Association. So if you want to extend your renovation to the kitchen, feel free to talk to us about your options. Barbara’s passions include baking, gardening, cats, and art glass.
Kathryn Cannon, joins us in Sales and Interior Design, and comes to us as a recent import from Northern Virginia. Our lovely central coast weather and beautiful beaches enticed Kathryn to our area. She has lived in California for the past five years, and got her AA in Interior Design from Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo. Her course curriculum had a strong emphasis on sustainable, eco-conscious design which makes her a great fit for SC41. In 2008 she received her LEED certification in commercial interiors. Kathryn loves educating customers on how environmentally friendly products can make a difference in their lives. In her free time, she likes to cook, hike in the redwoods with her boyfriend Kevin, and spends almost every day off at the beach. Welcome Kathryn, it’s great to have you with us.
Mikako Gillespie is the newest member of our SC41 team. She joins us as Director of Special Projects managing the myriad projects we juggle all the time. Mikako will be working on advertising, internet issues, event coordination, and much more. She will be working directly with owner, Michael Baetge helping to relieve him of a few of the many hats he has to wear on a weekly basis. Whew, it’s great to have the extra help as we move into the fall season. Mikako is a delight to work with, and we’re all so happy to have her here. Another local, she grew up in Santa Cruz, studied organic chemistry at Evergreen state college in Olympia Washington, and recently returned to Santa Cruz with her husband to be, Brendan Lazarus, who has already become an active member of the SC41 family by helping out with some of our computer needs.
