In 2008, twelve families in Ohio bought a furniture factory to save it.
Norwalk Furniture had been making upholstered furniture in the small town of Norwalk, Ohio since 1902. At the height of the recession, the fourth-generation owners decided to close it. Hundreds of jobs were about to disappear.
Twelve local families wouldn’t let that happen. They bought the factory.
In 2021, the new owners did one more thing: they handed the company to the people who work in it, through an employee stock ownership plan. Today, the 225 craftspeople building your Norwalk sofa own the company that builds it.
Every piece is made to order. Your fabric, your frame, your size – chosen from more than 800 options. 10% off all new orders through Tuesday, June 2nd.
